Comfy 1 furniture is made of win

We decided to upgrade our living room decor from "random assorted furniture and stuff" to "things that go together". The household consists of myself, the ogre I married, and two hyper cats. Lesser furniture tends to decay in the presence of ogres. Though our cats are scratching post trained, they sometimes make mistakes or get stuck on cloth things. A Google search for some variant of durable furniture brought me to Comfy 1. The simple designs, warranty, and solid construction appealed to me immediately. The stellar customer service sealed the deal.

We've enjoyed our pair of microsuede Virginia couches and 4' square coffee table for the past year. Read on for detailed impressions.

First off, Comfy 1 has an awesome fabric selection and an even more awesome sample policy. They're happy to send multiple rounds of samples and match colors for you. The sage green fabric we chose was identical to the color of a paint chip I sent. I also trusted their assurance that it would be durable, unlike some microsuede that loses its texture in a matter of months.

Fast forward to the arrival of furniture. It's interesting stuff, arriving in components that you bolt together. Each couch consists of a back piece, a front rail, two side pieces, and fabric-covered boards that are set in the frame after it's assembled. The insides of the pieces look quite utilitarian. When the couch is bolted together, it's just as solid as if it had been built as one piece, both in appearance and in function. Ogre can mindlessly flop all he wants, and we've never had to re-tighten anything.

The fabric is as durable as expected and amazingly cat-proof. The kitties never tried to scratch it, probably because it is too smooth and taut to register as something worthy of sinking their claws into. One of them fell off a couch and grabbed the cushion on the way down. No claw marks.

Occasional cushion flipping and rearranging keeps the couches looking brand new. When it comes time to replace the fabric many years from now, it will be an economical and simple process.
